What this is

Contest-a-Will Navigator is a free self-help research tool that explains, for your state and situation, the valid grounds to contest a will, the strict filing deadline, whether a no-contest clause risks your inheritance, who has standing, and the first step to take. An optional paid document pack ($29) formats this into a checklist and fill-in-the-blank templates.

What this is NOT

It is not a law firm, not a substitute for a probate attorney, and not legal advice. Using it creates no attorney-client relationship. We do not represent you in court. Will contests are litigation with hard deadlines and real risk — including, in some states, losing your inheritance under a no-contest clause. Always confirm the current law and your specific deadline with a licensed attorney in your state.

How the data is sourced

Florida, California, and Texas entries are checked against the cited primary statutes (e.g., Fla. Stat. § 733.212 & § 732.517; Cal. Prob. Code § 8270 & §§ 21310–21315; Tex. Est. Code § 256.204 & § 254.005), each linked so you can read the law yourself. For other states we present the universal grounds and the majority rules and clearly flag that the exact local deadline and clause rule are not individually verified — because giving you a confident wrong date would be worse than telling you to confirm it. Statutes change; always verify against the current text.
